Nursery and Preschools

Flying Colours Nursery Barnton

534 Queensferry Rd, Edinburgh EH4 6EE, UK – 0131 574 2679

I am so glad that I made the decision to move my child to Flying Colours. I have had trouble with settling him in other nurseries but my son is the most settled that he has ever been and that's down to the the friendly and approachable nursery staff. The innovative ideas which making learning fun is a big hit for my son! Fantastic nursery!

We feel very blessed that our girl is able to attend such a great nursery. The love, care and consideration shown to her by the staff is second to none and it is very comforting to us that she is well cared for. Our little girl loves going there and actively asks to go, showing how much she enjoys it. The facilities are also excellent and we are very impressed by the level of attention to cleanliness, indoor and outdoor play and nutrition.

Primary and Secondary Schools

Balgreen Primary School

171 Balgreen Rd, Edinburgh EH11 3AT, UK – 0131 337 6066

Well I suppose it is a very good school but it is very noisy to. I go to Gilmerton primary school and my head teacher is going to your school good luck. He is called Richard but you call him MR napper. Well Gilmerton primary school have a big play grownd with lots of grass you don't. Mr nappie is leaving Gilmerton primary school at 29 of April.

I love the school I walk most of the time but we only go in the car if it is raining

Roseburn Primary School

64 Roseburn St, Edinburgh EH12 5PL, UK – 0131 337 6096

A fantastic school with excellent facilities, great teachers and generally intelligent children.

Flora Stevenson Primary School

175 Comely Bank Rd, Edinburgh EH4 1BG, UK – 0131 332 1604

Summary: Lovely primary school with friendly staff and an adjoining music school. Flora's is a busy council-run primary school serving the Stockbridge and Comely Bank communities from its Victorian facilities and newer extensions. Of note is the attached Edinburgh Music School where gifted children from across the city benefit from a specialist musical programme in addition to their normal curriculum. Also, the school hosts many after-school activities and a sizeable after-school club, so provides significant support for working parents. However, not all is perfect. The class sizes are large, the staff are clearly very busy and, worst of all, the playground is incredibly small given the number of children it serves. But, that aside, it's a happy school with superb staff, and both of my children have really enjoyed their education there over the years. Also of note is the school's very close relationship with nearby Broughton High School, which ensures children transitioning to secondary education are fully supported at all times.

I used to go its a lot better than bruntsfielf

Public & Preparatory Schools

A unique building and an outstanding school. I would recommend it to anyone.

The most beautiful college in Edinburgh.

St George's School for Girls

Garscube Terrace, Murrayfield, Edinburgh EH12 6BG, UK – 0131 311 8000

I moved from Erskine Stewart's Melville School in P7 across to St. George's. The experience I had at this school was amazing. I loved coming to this school! The classes are a lot smaller this means that you get more attention from the teachers. All the teachers are so dedicated and passionate about their job and their subjects this in return made us want to learn more and do well in our exams. The EDUCATION, the SUPPORT, and the OPPORTUNITIES at this school are EXCELLENT.

Great school, good education. The food is great, the only problem was that you had to pay for all of the uniform.

The Mary Erskine School
