Flying Colours Nursery Barnton

534 Queensferry Rd, Edinburgh EH4 6EE, UK – 0131 574 2679

We feel very blessed that our girl is able to attend such a great nursery. The love, care and consideration shown to her by the staff is second to none and it is very comforting to us that she is well cared for. Our little girl loves going there and actively asks to go, showing how much she enjoys it. The facilities are also excellent and we are very impressed by the level of attention to cleanliness, indoor and outdoor play and nutrition.

Fantastic nursery - my daughter has settled in so well, she always comes home stimulated and content - I am very happy with all aspects of care given, such a lovely friendly environment - all staff are very approachable, helpful & attentive to the children and parents needs, indoor and outdoor facilities are fantastic , Wall displays are ever changing with the children's art work and plenty to take home to. I would highly recommend this nursery to parents in the surrounding areas. The nursery is very professionally run , The communication with parents is excellent ,Such a lovely happy atmosphere! 10/10

Flora Stevenson Primary School

175 Comely Bank Rd, Edinburgh EH4 1BG, UK – 0131 332 1604

Summary: Lovely primary school with friendly staff and an adjoining music school. Flora's is a busy council-run primary school serving the Stockbridge and Comely Bank communities from its Victorian facilities and newer extensions. Of note is the attached Edinburgh Music School where gifted children from across the city benefit from a specialist musical programme in addition to their normal curriculum. Also, the school hosts many after-school activities and a sizeable after-school club, so provides significant support for working parents. However, not all is perfect. The class sizes are large, the staff are clearly very busy and, worst of all, the playground is incredibly small given the number of children it serves. But, that aside, it's a happy school with superb staff, and both of my children have really enjoyed their education there over the years. Also of note is the school's very close relationship with nearby Broughton High School, which ensures children transitioning to secondary education are fully supported at all times.

I used to go its a lot better than bruntsfielf

St George's School for Girls

Garscube Terrace, Murrayfield, Edinburgh EH12 6BG, UK – 0131 311 8000

I moved from Erskine Stewart's Melville School in P7 across to St. George's. The experience I had at this school was amazing. I loved coming to this school! The classes are a lot smaller this means that you get more attention from the teachers. All the teachers are so dedicated and passionate about their job and their subjects this in return made us want to learn more and do well in our exams. The EDUCATION, the SUPPORT, and the OPPORTUNITIES at this school are EXCELLENT.

Great school, good education. The food is great, the only problem was that you had to pay for all of the uniform.

The Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School

Edinburgh EH10, UK – 0131 337 3410

The care for the children and attention to detail that the staff give is outstanding. I wish there were more schools like this one. The children are happy probably because they are allowed to be the individuals that they are. I love the fact school starting age is 6 or 7 in steiner schools. Research shows that this is better for the children's self esteem and also for academic achievement as children learn most from playing before the age of 7. I have met many wonderful people through the school. It is a lovely community of families.
